About this collection

Brain Prize

Our brains are one of the great frontiers of human research – from understanding human function, such as thoughts and behaviors, to treating neurological and psychiatric disorders, supporting mental health, and unravelling new mysteries of our brain’s inner workings.

This fascinating field of research is rapidly growing, including new advances in technology for innovative diagnostic and therapeutic tools, and providing new insights every year into what it means to be human and to experience the world.

What is the Brain Prize?

The largest award in the field of brain research, the Brain Prize is awarded each year to outstanding researchers by the Lundbeck Foundation of Denmark. It celebrates highly original and groundbreaking advances from core neuroscience to applied clinical research.

Since it was founded in 2011 and to date in 2026, The Brain Prize of 10M Danish Krone has been awarded to 51 scientists from 11 countries, under the patronage of HM The King of Denmark.

With the kind support of the Lundbeck Foundation, we are excited to share with you the ground-breaking work of 10 Winners of the Brain Prize. Dive into intriguing discoveries, ranging from pioneering cancer neuroscience, to how our cerebral circuits are organized, and insights into our higher brain functions. It’ll be mind-blowing!
